What an insurance tracking service needs
A useful vehicle security service needs more than a map. It needs a way to receive an alarm, establish whether the event is a theft, reach the customer, assign an operator and record the response. Tracking data, monitoring procedures and installation evidence need to work together.
Chicane includes stolen vehicle recovery workflows, certificates and configurable alarm delays. These functions support the operation of a tracking service. A software-generated certificate is not, by itself, proof of independent hardware certification or acceptance by an insurer.
Alert handling from the device to the control room
AlertAxis receives theft and tamper alerts from third-party telematics devices through an authenticated API, with deduplication. Its verification workflow can call the customer to confirm or dismiss an event, notify the control room and track the incident through to closure.
Operators have a live dashboard, per-alert tasks, an append-only audit log and GPS-map context. The product supports police crime-reference-number capture, partner status links and retried outbound callbacks to device vendors. Integrations and escalation responsibilities need to be agreed for the service you operate.
Confirm approval for the complete product and service
If a policy asks for a Thatcham-approved, S5 or S7 tracking product, confirm the exact requirement with the insurer and check the named product's current certification, installation conditions and monitoring arrangement. Our platform features do not make every connected tracker an approved insurance product.
