Tracking solutions

GPS asset tracking & BLE tag integration software

Code Monkey provides asset tracking platforms, GPS hardware and tag-data middleware for equipment and assets beyond the vehicle fleet. Choose a dedicated GPS tracker or a compatible BLE tag workflow based on the reporting frequency, power supply and coverage your operation needs.

Start with power, reporting and coverage

Asset tracking is the process of receiving location reports from equipment and turning them into a usable history. The hardware choice depends on whether the asset has a power supply, how often it moves, how long the battery must last and how quickly a new location is needed.

Dedicated cellular GPS trackers and BLE tags use different networks and reporting paths. A cellular device depends on its radio support, mobile coverage and configured reporting interval. A BLE or crowd-sourced tag depends on compatible nearby devices or gateways; its latest report should not be treated as guaranteed live tracking.

Bring compatible GPS assets into Chicane

Chicane supports vehicle and asset tracking with live maps, journey history, geofences and plan-based access. Our hardware range includes asset form factors from supported suppliers. Confirm the exact tracker protocol, enclosure, connectivity and battery behaviour for the asset and operating conditions.

For mixed deployments, Telematics Middleware turns supported tracker protocols into a normalised message model. The measurements available still depend on the device: position, voltage, motion and I/O data cannot be assumed for every unit.

Integrate BLE and crowd-sourced location reports

ALBS Server receives supported AirTag-style location pushes, BLE gateway events and Jimi/Tracksolid tag feeds. It maps tags to devices, deduplicates reports and relays points to downstream tracking platforms. It is an ingest-and-relay component, not a guarantee of nearby network coverage.

AppleSync is a separate self-hosted component for supported FindMy-compatible workflows. It retrieves reports through the configured Apple account, decrypts tag locations locally and forwards them to your platform. Account access, compatible tags and a working deployment are prerequisites. Neither product makes tag reports equivalent to continuous cellular GPS updates.

Questions about asset, plant & equipment tracking

Should I use a GPS tracker or a BLE tag for an asset?

Choose based on power, required update frequency and coverage. Cellular GPS trackers use a mobile connection; BLE and crowd-sourced tags need compatible gateways or nearby network devices. We can assess the trade-offs for your assets.

Does ALBS Server provide live GPS tracking by itself?

No. ALBS Server receives and relays supported tag reports. Position freshness depends on the source network, gateways and report availability.

Can I combine vehicle and asset tracking?

Chicane supports vehicle and asset tracking. The exact devices, features, reporting intervals and plan permissions need to be agreed for your deployment.
